I really need help on picking the right size so I don't buy a power supply that's to big for my computer to fit help please. The computer is a cm1745 but I really want to upgrade it to 1000w I currently have 650w but I want to move up, its a atx12v 15.8cm W x 15cm D x 8.6 H and a 650W!! But like I said I need to move up to 1000w and I just don't know what would fit in my computer please help:( also I have amd sapphire 7970 oc edition and I'm going to be crossing firing with 2 of the same. So does anyone know what power supply would fit?

why are you trying to upgrade your psu? are you experinecing problems? ther really isnt a need to upgrade your psu eapecially not to 1000w unless you are adding new components. and for 1000w unless you have 2 780tis in your system or are doing some really unsafe overclocking then youdont need 1000w.

Why do you need 1kW? There's very very few situations that need a PSU that big; I'd expect you to be running at least 3+ GPUs.

There's no way you'd need more than maybe 550W on that PC. Make sure it's a decent one though; see the second link in my sig.

That case does appear to take a standard ATX form factor PSU, though.

I'm going to be having two Amd 7970's I have one gpu which is a amd sapphire 7970 oc edition. I want to crossfire with another but 650w isn't enough to support both also, I'm going to be overcloacking as well yes my motherboard could support both everything is good but the power supply it needs about 850w or 900w but 1000w would be better and safer because like you said I am going to be overcloacking as well. So do you guys have suggestions want power supply I should get? That could fit in my desktop? Like the length, width, and height because I don't want anything to big that won't fit:( or to small.
