Hey guys, so I've finally got all the funds and the majority of my parts ordered or currently waiting to be built at my house.

So far this is what I have:

Apevia x-dreamer4 case
Amd fx6300 CPU
M5A97 R2.0 mobo
Kingston v300 120gb SSD
Seagate barracuda 1TB HDD
G.skill ripjaws 8gb (2x4gb)
Xfx R7 260x 2gb

I'm not looking for groundbreaking graphics just yet. This will be first build ever and first desktop computer in like 8 years. Ill be playing this on a 24" acer monitor. Will this system hold its own with current games on med-high settings?

Is there any tips or advice to give someone on their first build (I've been researching like crazy)

What about dust filters? Is this important and what do I buy for this case?

The drive works fine, it just isnt very fast. I have 3 ssd's now, and my crucial m500 and corsair force gt both blow it away. If you can return it, I would. The samsung evo's are very highly regarded, and not too expensive.

Stay away from the kingston v300 ssd. I have one in my system, and it's slower than a 7200 rpm hard drive. After discussing it with kingston's support team, I found that they had to move to a different manufacturer, which is the reason for the performance decrease. They are in the process of trying to find another one.
Other than that, seems like a pretty decent mid-end gaming pc. As for dust filters, the more you have the better, but it really just means that you dont have to open the system up to clean it as often. Not having them isnt a horrible thing.

Great that's good to hear. A bummer about the Kingston v300, because I already have it. I wonder if I could get a return and put it towards another SSD. Will the decrease in performance matter if I'm using it jut as my boot drive?

Awesome ill see if newegg will allow me to do so.

As for the building: is it easier to install the motherboard, memory and CPU outside of the case first? Do you recommend installing the parts in a particular order?
