Is this laptop good for gaming ,as I am looking for good laptops for lite gaming such as black ops ghosts on medium settings and star wars the old republic on max settings .
HP ENVY 15z-j100
AMD Quad-Core A10-5750M
16 gb ddr3l ram
ssd 256 gb sata 3
2GB AMD Radeon™ HD 8750M Discrete
15.6-inch diagonal Full HD bright View LED-backlit Display (1920x1080)
I am going to upgrade the ssd and ram myself and would like recommendations on those as well,inaddition to being on a budget of less than 700 $

I have an i7 processor, MUCH more powerful than any A10 and I have borrowed RAM to see if going from 8gb to 16gb helped at all and it didnt

You are going to upgrade the RAM past 16gb??? DONT DO THAT!!! That is the biggest waste of money ever. 8Gb is plenty and 16GB is just overkill. Any more and you are just throwing money out the window.

That laptop seems pretty good for the money. The 5750M is a great processor and the 8750M will play most fairly-modern games at medium-high (although you might have to turn the resolution down a bit, maybe to 1600x900 in your games).

why would you say that ram upgrade is a bad idea I would need more elaboration on that point please I would be using this laptop to start a channel on youtube to help people make videos thus requreing lots of ram and a fast and responsive system that is cost efficiant

Linus honestly , I got what you meant but I wanna squeeze every bit from this laptop which I am going to buy but I will wait a few more weeks until july and then buy a laptop ntil then newerA10 based procesoors would be released with a 28 nm architecture
