Hi
I am at the end of my 3 year upgrade cycle and want to upgrade my system so I am able to run games like FFXIV and Rift at the highest settings with no issue.

My current setup is:
CPU: Intel i7 2,600k 3.4ghz (Sandy Bridge)
GPU: Ge Force GTX 460
ASUS P8P67 PRO m (not the updated one for the SB issues)
8gb of DDR3 Ram

I have looked at the GTX 760 as a good upgrade, but I read somewhere that Sandy Bridge chips don’t support PSE 3.0, so I may need to upgrade my CPU and motherboard as well. I would like so advice as to whether I can get away with just updating the GPU or whether I should consider other options, and if so what?

Approximate Purchase Date: next couple of weeks
Budget Range: £500 for all parts
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: GPU but will upgrade cpu if required. Also considering a hard drive upgrade as I currently use a traditional 7,200 rpm Hitachi which is the weak link in my system atm.
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference
Location: Gloucester, UK
Parts Preferences: Nvidia GPU, Intel CPU
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080,
Additional Comments: Will mostly be playing FF XIV and Rift.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Want to run games at highest graphics settings

No, not any but Sabertooth 990FX Gen3 R2.0 the only has PCI-E 3.0 slots!

Ya that makes you the mobo master. Thanks for the info!! But all of them except this one run a 2.0 and it doesnt affect performance.

No problem :) you're welcome :)
