Hello guys,

I have a problem with my router (Linksys WRT120N) recently. As the title says, my router is rebooting every hour at the same minute, like: 19:23, 20:23, 21:23, etc...

Something software- or setup-related thing might cause this, but I have no idea.

I've started noticing it 2 days ago while I was playing online. Skype hanged and the game dropped me a disconnect message while the router LEDs have stopped blinking (signs of router reboot), 25-30 secs later Skype came back to normal, connection was established again. Then this would repeat every hour.

So something is triggering my router at every hour telling it to "reboot asap, dude". I've checked my PC for possible viruses or malware, but it seems to be clear of those. Also, whenever I've reset my router manually, it started to take that point in time to reboot every 60 mins after that... I'm using the router wired. I've also disabled UPnP, set the keep alive to 180 seconds, set the lease time to 9999 minutes, but that didn't solve it.

I've tried to reboot the router from the admin panel, I've tried to unpower it for 5 minutes, then replug it. Last I did was reflashing the firmware (already had the latest installed in like a year ago, everything was fine until last few days), this way almost at midnight, so I haven't had the time to check it today yet, although I've asked my mother to stream radio from her PC and she reported no issues with 80 mins of continuous listening (yesterday I've lost connection to the same online radio, so it's unlikely it was buffered on my mother's PC).

Hopefully the firmware reflash solved it, but I'm not sure and I have little time and even less patience to withstand this error, so I'm asking the community whether you guys came across this kind of error or not.

On a side note, this is a new installation of Win 7 x64 on a new rig, only like a month old. Lately I've started to gradually download Windows Update packages and install them, so my guess would be some update package-related bug, but I'm not sure.

Please, if you guys have any experience with such an error, please let me know!

Thanks in advance! :)

Apparently I've solved it. It happens DayZ standalone bombs the router with UDP packages and whatnot, and older routers may not bear it in the long run. Anyway, a firmware reflash solved the problem.
