Using two graphics cards for external display

I have a notebook pc from MSI that has GTX 765M & Intel HD 4600 graphics processors. I noticed that when I plug my computer to an external display via HDMI, my performance is reduced significantly when I'm playing a game. Is there a way to use my integrated graphics for the external display and keep using my Nvidia card for gaming without it having to be used for displaying video?

No. What I mean is instead of using the resources of my 765m to display the video onto my tv, I'd like to use my integrated graphics to simply display video on my tv screen, and my 765m to process the graphics. While doing this, I only intend on using my tv as the default monitor. It sounds feasible, but I'm not sure. The reason I want to do this is because my graphics performance drops when I use my 765m on an HD tv. Theoretically, if I can use my integrated graphics for video output, than it will free up recources on my 765m and perform smoothly

If I understand your question correctly, that won't be possible. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the 765m is rendering the environment of the game and it wouldn't make too much sense to then pass on the rendered frames to the integrated graphics to display it once it has already been rendered.

I'm assuming the performance hit is due the hd tv having a higher resolution than your laptop monitor. One option is to simply lower to resolution in the game settings.
