use laptop monitor for my desktop pc? possible?

Solution
Oh yes, another option is to add a tuner card to the laptop that will accept video inputs. Then you can view the desktop output on your laptop. Your laptop would always need to be up and running within its operating system in order to view your desktop screen.

Unfortunately, it's rare that a laptop screen has any sort of raw input that will allow you to use it as a stand alone display.

Your best bet is to purchase a cheapo LCD or you can use the laptop as a remote monitor over the network. You'd need software program on both desktop and laptop to make this work. Try something like Splashtop streamer, for instance.

You can buy certain adapter kits but why not sell the lappie (unless you use it) and use the cash to get an actual monitor. Also for the adapter to work you have to disconnect the display from the laptop, AKA dismantle the whole thing.
