GPU running super hot. Solutions?

My HD 7990 runs real hot, which is to be expected I guess. (80 degrees at max fan speed during gameplay)
But it's cooking all my other components, after playing a pc game, The top of the GPU and ram are REALLY hot to touch.
I have a water cooler cooling the cpu and the part above the cpu gets superhot too.

I can think of three methods:

a) buy a side window panel and install exhaust fans (i have a window panel atm, worst decision ever)

b) install the h110 watercooler at the front where the hdd's are

c) Buy a watercooling kit for the gpu.

I would go with a or c, but they would require me to sink another $200 on it.

have you tried testing with the side panel of? just a try i dont know if anything is going to inprove

a), but you'll need an intake fan. Your exhaust should be in the rear-top and on top of case, if available.

that 80 degrees are in celcius or fahrenheit and what kind of air flow you have in this case .

What case are you using?
It sounds like a case cooling issue to me.

If the H110 is mounted to draw in cold air for maximum cpu cooling, you are hurting your gpu cooling.
Reversing the air flow so that the hot air exhausts from the case will help, but at the expense of cpu cooling.

If you can add a front intake fan, or increase the rpm of intake fans, that should help.

Take the side covers off and direct a house fan at the innards. If that fixes the problem, see what you can do for case cooling.

I found that side fans are not worth it, they disrupt the natural intake in front/bottom to exhaust top/rear airflow.

I haven't tested with side panel off, but i assume that would be better since the HD7990 exhausts air towards the side of the case.

I have a CM Storm Trooper case with side window.
I have the H110 setup as exhaust.
My case already has 2 front fans. I have all fans running at 100% except the gpu fan (which is noisy).

I think i'd better try with side panel off.
Otherwise there's not much I can do right?

your gpu fan is noisy check for dust and see if it spin as it should if not ask for a rma .

Amd says their cards are OK to run at 80 degrees Celsius. Your card has 6 gb GDDR5 and 2 GPUs, of course it is going to get hot! Also, the 7990 is notorious for making lots of noise.

one of these babies. I got one for my gtx 650 ti and it kicks ass, my card never gets above 60c, plus the fan on it is really quiet. I can attest to how good it works I gave it 4 eggs but the only reason I docked an egg was that they put in just enough hardware, no spares. I hate it when companies do that. But other than that it's been a great product and alternative to liquid cooling. Plus if you have any unfilled spots for fans, fill them, I have these case fans as well, they're a good price and feel a lot sturdier than most fans, play they have really good CFM for how many decibels they produce, plus they come with a little voltage reduction cord thing so you can make it run even more quiet.

If your card is big enough you can get this too, basically the same thing up top just two fans, they also make one that has three

have you don't cable management? Cables can get in the way of airflow if not managed.

If its heating other components then the best solution is just to improve airflow in your case. How many exhaust/intake fans do you have?

Intake:
I have two stock fans at the front (CM Storm trooper case)
One fan added at the bottom front. (under hdd cages)

Exhaust:
H110 at top (2 fans)
1 fan at back.

Thanks, that's interesting i didn't think of installing a new cooler. The current fans run pretty loud if I want to keep it my card under 80 degrees.
My cable management's not too bad, but i guess I can improve it a bit.

I love the H110 CPU cooler, so:
I'm thinking about perhaps getting something similar to what you recommended, a new vga cooler.
Are they straightforward to install?
None of the Arctic vga coolers specifically say they're compatible with the HD 7990..

None fit the 7990 unfortunately, however it wouldn't be too hard to remove the shroud and fans from the current setup and rig up some higher performance 92mm or 120mm static pressure optimized fans to the heatsink. Would probably end up cooler and quieter, but wont look very pretty.

Its a shame NZXT dont do a dual GPU version of the G10, because I use a H55 on my graphics card and it runs quiet (two fans in push/pull running at 500rpm) and cool (47'c full load, overclocked from 830mhz to 1250mhz). If you could attach a couple of H55's to it you would be laughing.

Here are all of their products

http://www.arctic.ac/us_en/products/cooling/vga.html

There are other companies that make fans other than arctic, I took the liberty of emailing them for you to see if their list of compatibility wasn't updated so one of those may just be compatible with a 7990 yet.

As far as how straight forward and easy it was, I have the Mono Accelero Plus and while the instructions are a bit vague, installation is very easy, and it is easily one of the best products I've bought for my computer.

But anyway man, I found this: http://www.zalman.com/global/product/Product_Read.php?I...

It fits on the 7990 and I can attest to Zalman, they're the ones who make my aftermarket CPU cooler and it's been great as well.
