Cpu overheating at around 30% load...

So i built this comp a year ago or so. It just recently started overheating at low cpu loads. 55C at 28% for instance. I just blew dust out of the heatsink fins and it keeps it at 50C at the same load. The point is i know it shouldnt be this hot for such a low load.

Someone suggested my voltages could be bad. I have a screenshot from SpeedFan but don't see a way to upload on here(first time on here)

I have windows 8 x64

Amd 6200fx 6 core processor

8gb RAM

Sapphire HD 7870 2gb

ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Solution
Yeah, you should apply new paste, get a couple fans if possible, a new case if you can afford one because it sounds like yours is very lacking in ventilation.

If you have checked the voltages, cleaned the fins and made sure the fan is working properly, perhaps you need to pull the CPU cooler off, clean the surfaces, reapply thermal CPU paste and reinstall the heat sink.

The fan is working. i set manually to 100% which for this fan is around 3600 rpm. I havnt been able to get into town to get new paste but that could be an issue. it came pre-applied to the heat box and fan when i got the processor so it is probably cheap paste.

well when i say crashes kicks out of games to desktop. and i have made sure all my video drivers were erased and reinstalled and what not. it only happens after playing games for a while and the temp i read from SpeedFan for my cpu is in excess of 60

its not bad one side vent two open vents on top one uder the psu. large rear fan and a small "slit" vent going down along the rear.

i think i will try to get an intake fan then reapply thermal and see where it goes.

open vents, but no fans? 2 front fans pushing air in, 2 rear fans pulling air out, would help.
