They don't make an equivalent.
Clock for clock, it takes an 8 core AMD of the same speed to be equivalent to the same speed 4 core Intel

Anything above an i5-3570k > 8350. Sure they trade blows in certain things, but in general, Intel's stronger single core performance will make a larger difference than AMD's extra cores.
And it generally takes a fairly heavy overclock to the AMD CPU to match stock Intel speeds. Not to mention the higher power consumption and heat.
