Hey there folks. I just recently built a new machine which has Windows 8.1 installed. Since I built the machine I am experiencing a power up/restart on a system shutdown action. Basically if I tell the system to shut down (when I go to bed) it will shut down and then 2 seconds later power it self back on.

My second issue is a Whea_uncorrectable error blue screen of death. I haven't messed with any of my bios, voltage or driver settings since updating the drivers when I initially built the PC.

If anyone has a solution/fix for my on going issues please feel free to post what you think will help.

Just stating the obvious here, but you did install a driver for everything right? :D

You mentioned you built the machine yourself; did you set the ram timings manually in the bios? Not sure if this can cause the issue you're describing, but I remember the manufacturer of my ram mentioning the need to set the timings manually.

At the start, I also saw a few WHEA's, turns out it was the software delivered with my motherboard (ASUS stuff, I got a maximus VI formula) which didn't like my AV very much... Had to uninstall that, no problems since.

Finally, did you check hardware issues like faulty ram or disk? chkdsk might give a hint to what's causing it.

I'd start there, but other than that, I'm out... gotta ask the experts around here.
