Pentium G3220 1600MHz Ram Support?

I'm building a cheap gaming computer for my brother, thinking of going with the G3220 for $65 and an EVGA GTX 750 superclocked for $130. The only potential issue with this setup is the ram support; Intel's documentation states that this CPU only supports ddr3-1333, and given the awful ram prices currently, I don't want to spend $90 on 8GB and be limited to 1333. I've read elsewhere that it can in fact be run at 1600 without issue, but have received some other conflicting information.

Yeah that too. It's tough to tell the difference between 1333 and 2133, 1333 and 1600 with that low-end of a build will mean nothing.

Now if you were using the g3220's igpu, you could tell a marginal difference.

My laptop came with 16GB of 1600mhz RAM, and I traded it to my friend for his 8GB of 1333mhz RAM and some money. There was absolutely NO difference in performance. I never even noticed the difference.

I was on the fence over the 760k, but leaned towards the pentium since the deal is a good bit better here, and I can get it from a local store (have to get the 760k from newegg.ca which is ~$100 before tax) however if I were in 'Murica and could get a $75 760k from amazon I'd go with that without hesitation. I'm using a 760k in my build @4.8GHz, but he's not particularly interested on OCing (and I'd probably be tempted to pilfer his if it turned out to be better binned, heh). Anyways, I still have yet to get a clear answer on whether ram could be run at 1600MHz with said CPU or not.

Well, thanks for the response anyways. I've picked up the CPU while it was on sale, but may still return it in the 2 week return period in favor of another 760k depending on how newegg's prices turn out in their next sale. The 750 I was eyeing got out of stock within a couple hours of when I went to NCIX unfortunately, so I will look for any decent GPU deals in that price range. Not sure about the feasibility of a 7850k as the IGPU is a little under half a GTX-750, and I'd like to make this as efficient as possible for gaming, meaning a cheap but competent CPU and a relatively more expensive GPU.

Indeed; it would perform at a solid mid-range level, consume only 110-130W total, and cost a rather small amount.
