I would simpy like to know how the FPS will compare between these two systems, A single i3-2350M vs. AMD Athlon x4 760k + GTX 750 1gb. On the i3 I get around 30-140 FPS on minimum settings, depending on where I am. How will both setups Record Minecraft with Fraps? FPS for the second setup while recording with Fraps?

Solution
Compared to the laptop, yes. I'm normally running about 90FPS+ with FTB (Minecraft and about 130mods), so you should get 60FPS with no issues at all!

Oh, you may need to look up the Memory allocation trick.. (Minecraft natively runs off 1Gb RAM, but you can run a text file to increase the available memory for Minecraft. That'd help a lot with FPS issues.)

Not totally sure, but I'm almost definite in saying the latter with the 750 will work better. The i3 is good, but Minecraft is now utilising multiple cores (on a basic level), so it wont take as much as a hit when using FRAPS. Plus you can OC the 760k (if you have the cooling & power headroom) to balance it out more!

Although apparently (according to other reviewers and people on forums) the 760k is a bit unstable with its temperatures (unless with good cooling solutions) on stock speeds.. Better off getting a 750k and OC'ing apparently.

So I've decided to go with the FX-6300. Shouldn't that be better than the 750 or the 760?

So, as an estimate, I should get atleast 60 FPS with the FX-6300 + the GTX 750 while recording with maximum settings, using Fraps and the AMD+nVidia setup should be alot faster than the i3 laptop?

Really good to know! Thanks for giving me the reassurance of performance - I hear "You can't get a decent gaming PC with that budget!" alot :/

Well, I don't run the highest end games on more than 720p (give or take) as I use a tv as a monitor, or care about AA etc.. And I built the entire rig with a watercooling setup for £450!
