Xeon 1230 CPU and PCI question

I'm planning a build with the Xeon E3 1230 v3. This CPU does not have a IGP. The mobo I plan to use does not have any onboard video but has onboard video outputs. Here's a noob question... does that mean if I pair the Xeon with this mobo it won't support any video output, so no monitor at all? I assume that even if I used the CPU processing power, it wouldn't be able to send the signal through the onboard output ports without an IGP on the CPU, correct?

The mobo I'm interested in supports:
PCI Express 3.0 x16
PCI express 2.0 x16 (x4)
PCI express
PCI

So, another noob question, does this mean the mobo will be backwards compatible with:

1) HD5770 a card that uses PCI Express 2.1 x16?

2) Evga 7900 GTX, a card that uses PCI express x16?

My plan is to get the mobo and Xeon now then use an old video card while I wait for the bitcoin price inflation to calm down a little.

Thanks for the info.

So with either of my old video cards, I could just put it in the PCI express 3.0 x16 slot or should I try to match them to the older slots? (i.e. put the Evga in the standard PCI express slot) ?

Interesting idea. If it was literally only $10, I'd consider the HD 6450, but I'm really not sure where you're getting those prices. Ebay? Not sure I want to mess around with used stuff.
