I have an older Toshiba M55-S325 that is showing its age. It is taking forever to load pages in explorer and I have maxed out my memory slots. I changed out the one under the keyboard and the one in the back. I use my computer for music, the internet and college coursework. Nothing major. I spend a lot of time online doing research for school and half the time spent is waiting for errors. I ran the CrystalDiskInfo and literally every attribute is rated at the worst it can be.The temp is 125F! It came back saying my hard disk was parallel ATA if you need to know. I just want to upgrade to the SSD for better performance. I will also upgrade the OS from Windows XP to Windows 7+.

So is it possible to install the SSD? Will it be of any benefit if so?

Solution
if it has only a parallel port connector it's a bit more complicated... you would need an adapter and even then it might not work properly....

bad crystal info attributes can mean your current hdd is at the end of its life. backup important data you have on it first and foremost. then take it out, see what connector it has and find a matching new hdd to replace it with.
