Hi everyone. I recently built my custom PC and I got a ASUS R9 280X, along with Battlefield 4 for free. However, sometimes when I play online the game will freeze, so I go to Task Manager and I see this.

"DirectX function 'GetDeviceRemovedReason' failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ('The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is a design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.') GPU: 'AMD Radeon R9 200 Series', Driver: 13.12 (13.251-131206a-166389C-ATI)"

Please help!! Thanks

welcome to battlefield .... ahh bugfield, sorry, almost forgot

don't worry about that, that's a new bug introduced with the latest game update
that's a problem with the directx-renderer in the game
i also get the same errors with the mantle-renderer from time to time, that's something ea/dice (again) has to fix

My friend told me how to get past the problem. Download MSI Afterburner and downclock the GPU core about -10mHz. It works! Played for a full glorious hour without any crashes/freezing. Now we don't have to wait for DICE to get off their pile of money and fix the game
