if your graphic card is 2gb with SLi ready you can get another graphic card

what im saying is
you dont need a 4gb graphic card to get another graphic card all you need is a 2gb gpu with SLi ready

Solution
SLI only works between like GPUs (Manufacture does not matter). So if you have a GTX 660 then you would have to get another GTX 660 you can not SLI a 670 with a 660. Also SLI only supports 4 GPUs so if you have a card that has two GPUs on it then you can only do 2 way SLI. Memory is not a a factor in SLI.

As stated above each card uses its own memory only. So the memory that will be used is of the card you have the monitor plugged into.

I hope that is the answer you are looking for.

I don't understand what you're saying. If you're saying that 2x2gb graphics cards in SLI = 4GB of VRAM I believe you're incorrect. don't know a huge deal about xfire/sli but I believe you use the VRAM of one of the cards, not both.
