WLAN Card Recommendation

Hello all,

I am looking for a WLAN card with 450Mbps, signal is not an issue since only a room away from the router on same floor plan and it might have some features which are: good for "HD Streaming" and "Online Gaming".

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Are you absolutely sure you can't get an ethernet cable run? They tend to be significantly faster and lower latency.

What's the router, and where are you buying from?

Well to be honest, I have two computers and one lan socket which I can only output through to one of the two computers and so I thought that I'd install a WLAN card on one of them. Router is a CISCO and dunno yet from where I'm buying that's why I am asking for a recommendation..

I mainly mean what country, but if you've got a couple of stores in mind it's easier. Not everything's available everywhere.

If the router doesn't support it, there's no point in getting a 450Mb/s card. Very few routers have the 3x3 MIMO needed to use one of those cards at full speed.

It sounds like you'd be better off getting a switch.

I am looking for a WLAN with 450Mbps 'cause I know that my router can support that speed. I asked for a recommendation on that type of card to avoid these type of questions and go straight to the point. I live in Malta but if the card which anyone can recommend me is not available in any store in my country then I'll order it online. I'd go for the PCIe one. Should be perfectly fine.

It's just that I see a large number of people who try to get something that's utterly pointless.

The problem is I don't have another point in my room to connect the one of the two computers via ethernet. But thanks for your suggestion much appreciated.

Again, that's what an ethernet switch is for.

But if you want to go WiFi, that's up to you.
