I'm a new member but long time reader. I've actually built my first gaming system based on one of the sticky's here. My current build is bulky and a hassle to take in and out of its location for game nights (going to friends place for game nights). This would be a secondary gaming rig so i'd like to keep cost down a bit. I also what this rig for portability, it would also be used as a htpc when not used for gaming. I made a build list on pcpartpicker and would like some advice on this build. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My current system is an i5-3570k with gtx 780. Previously an i5-2300 with gtx460 (gave this pc away when I built the i5-3570k).

Games I will typically play on this build: tera, raiderz, c9, rust, orion: dino horde, hawken. Would like to play at mid to high graphics settings if possible.

I agree with you on everything but the SSD. If he's mainly using it for gaming, wouldn't more storage be preferred over speed? Games like BF4 are now 40gb+ in size. He would be better off with this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236339

I forgot to mention I have a storage constraint when used as htpc, which is what most of the build revolves around. Available space on my tv stand is 23" width x 9" height x 15.75" depth. The cooler master and silverstone cases would fit but would air flow be a concern?

I totally forgot about hdd space. I was only thinking about switching games out to games I will be playing that night for game night.

If i go with the Intel build I can pull the extra ram from my current build and save a little there. currently have 16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz cas7. The original ram selected was only for the a10 build.

Of course you could.

The CM 130 case I listed is great for what you're going for. Enough airflow for what you're looking at putting in it,and enough HDD spots for storage as well.

I would definitely recommend the i3 + 760 route, much better gaming performance, and the i3 is great for normal computing as well.
