Hi. I need your professional assistance. I need to upgrade from my 2007 Mac pro and I'm looking to buy a 2010 mac pro. Specs are below. Would this be a good choice for heavy video and graphics work. Also, what's a good and realistic price for a system like that with the new mac pros being out. Currently, I am not ready for a new Mac pro b/c I have older Raid drives so would like to move to a 2010 version and buy new machine down the line. Thanks a bunch!! Jonas

2010 MAC PRO 5,1
3.2GHZ QUAD CORE
32 GIGS RAM
ATI 5770 1GIG VIDEO CARD
1 TB HARD DRIVE
WIRELESS AND BLUETOOTH

I think it is still realistic to purchase a cheese grater mac pro, as long as you do not mind the size, larger power consumption and heat output. I have an early 2012 mac pro that I love, although if you are looking to do any video editing, 3d modeling, or gaming, I would suggest upgrading to a 5870 because it is way more powerful.

Thanks a lot for your help! I agree, they can be loud and suck up a lot of energy. But, that's ok for now. I appreciate the suggestion about upgrading the card to 5870. Do you think $1700 is a good price for this machine. I see it on Ebay and considering a purchase but want to cross my eyes and dot my t's.

Thanks a bunch!!
