Umm, that's a pretty drastic first recommendation for a fix, fields224.
While this may not pertain to the OP's specific issue, the 14.1 drivers from AMD broke OpenGL support in at least Minecraft. I have read that rolling back to previous drivers does not necessarily fix this, however I have first hand experience that installing a few, working OpenGL files into the "
C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin" (folder I used on x64 Windows 8.1) corrects the situation without having to mess around with any core system files. I have not yet tried the 14.2 beta drivers to see if they have addressed the problem, but essentially it's an OpenGL problem plaguing the 14.1 drivers in Minecraft.
Here is a link to the same files I used in the "bin" folder to resolve the OpenGL issue:

The second thing I would look into is whether or not you are running an up-to-date version of Minecraft and whether you have any mods or texture packs loaded. Try running a vanilla or stock installation of the most current Minecraft release and see if things improve.
You might also consider updating to the most current version of Java, as Minecraft requires Java to run.
Edit: The 14.2 drivers from AMD do appear to correct the OpenGL issue with Minecraft.
