Just recently got myself the SteelSeries Siberia V2, but am thinking I have made a big mistake. The quality of the sound it the headset it actually pretty good, but I have just tested the microphone using windows sound recorder, and my voice is extremely quiet with lots of background noise (to the point I could hardly hear myself). I have bumped up the volume in the settings but it just makes everything a bit louder and doesn't help at all. I have the headset plugged into my motherboard through 2 3.5mm slots. Can anybody help me I have tried everything I could find!

Solution
For such a comfortable headset I really wish the mic was replacable - I've begun recording using a usb mic instead and trying to remove whitenoise via audacity.

As for this one - look at the mic - have the part that has 3 holes facing your mouth - and check the box on the cord 0 the switch is a cough button and needs to be 'up' - as down records very very little.

All in all I recommend people not buy it and go for the more expensive astrals if they want to record voice - but recommend this set if you just want nice headphones.
