Hi. I just bought a new monitor (1440p). However, whenever the background is black there are loads of red dots or lines. How can this be? Worth to note is also that my old monitor works flawlessly without any of these dots. This new monitor is brand new though, so this shouldn't happen. Is it broken, you think, or what can it be?

This could be a cable issue or a port issue. Could also be a heat related issue as the GPU works harder to manage all the pixels on a 1440p display.
What make/model of GPU, PSU, and display are you using? What type of cable connection are you using (VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort)? Are you overclocking the GPU? Are your video drivers up to date?

My old DVI cable did not work with the new monitor because it seems like it was a different "model," and because I got brand new cables it most likely isn't anything wrong with the cables. The red dots appear right after I start the computer, so... I'm using my old monitor now (1080), and it's running flawlessly. My GPU is kinda new too. Ugh... seems to be the monitor then... I guess I have to send it back, I only got it today. It sucks.
