Can't get computer to start

Hello all,

I've been spending hours looping through the same screens on my laptop. Can't seem to get it past the windows loading screen. When I woke this morning I first noticed the issue. Last night I decided to reformat to get a fresh clean start. Everything went smoothly there, I was able to get the computer running and back to my original settings after the reformat. I had been looking into partitioning my HDD so that I could install and run another OS. So I did my homework (or at least I thought) and was able to shrink my existing HDD to create a partition. I left it at that. Didn't do anything else to it. This morning when I got up my computer doesn't have a Boot Option to boot from.. I put my Windows 7 Cd in and try to boot from CD but it gets stuck at the Windows loading screen. In bios the only Boot Option that is appearing right now is my CD ROM but when I boot from it, it will just loop at the loading screen. I've been spending hours on this and I can't seem to get around it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I just take it in to have it looked at?

Thanks,
Zack

Does the Bios pick up your HDD?
If not Google you laptop model on instructions of replacing your HDD
Just so you can unplug it and plug it back in again and see if your bios pick it up again (do this with power off)

Removing your HDD or Replacing it will not void any warranty (unless you have to break seals to do so)

Hey Mark, thanks for the reply. I have tried this and still get the same results. The bios is not reading any options at all unless there is a cd or a flash drive plugged in. How do I bring all my boot options back?

- In your BIOS, check to see what type of hard drive connection are IDE/SATA/AHCI?
- Mess around with the Boot options in bios to see if you can see the HDD.

Since you've just do a fresh install on the hdd, I would install W7 again, but this time during the installation process at where you choose Custom (advanced) option to install Windows. The next screen is "Where do you want to install Windows", here you can try to partition the drive to whatever size you like and choose which partition you want to install Windows.

Thanks for the reply supasieu. I changed the hard drive connection from AHCI to IDE but still doesn't work. When I turn on the laptop it boots straight into bios. When I boot from my CD drive with Windows 7 disk, it doesn't fully load. It gets stuck at the loading screen making it so I can't reformat again. This laptop isn't even a year old yet.
