Admirable
overclocking is a process by raising the voltages on your cpu to achieve higher clocks. a non k designator cpu from intel means it is locked. you would not be able to adjust clocks or voltages. for this you would also need a good z87 mobo and not a b85 mobo as well which are more pricey. you would also need to do research and look at tutorials on how to correctly overclock as if you do this without doing it properly it could damage your system.imo a 4670 is more than enough for gaming. overclocking is for when you want to squeeze som extra fps in games. a overclock setup would also cost around 70 dollars more than your current setup

Overclocking is making changes in the motherboard BIOS to allow the CPU to run faster than its rated speed. It is not automatic, you have to make changes to enable it.

Yes, you can buy a CPU off of a shelf. You are getting a CPU and PC confused. The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is just once component inside your computer. The whole computer is referred to as a PC (Personal Computer).

why do you say that :D im just a gamer lookin for a fix ;) i need me some good spppeEEEEEEEDDDDD.

just out of curiosity. i used to have a mac. but i threw it at the floor and it smashed the screen and warpped the body (video game rage). it worked after, kinda. but then i spilt water on it... how much better is this cpu going to be then my old 13" macbook pro? on a scale of 1 to alienware. besides the fact that its harder to throw? :p

I just say that because i was also same like you and when i came to PC world! :)
