MSI Z87-GD65 Failure

I purchased this MSI MoBo back in November from MicroCenter (maybe a bad move?) and upon connecting my monitor today (I move it back and forth between two rooms depending on use), my MoBo was unable to find my boot device. I tried to enter BIOS after a reset and I found I was unable to enter BIOS because my keyboard was not receiving a data signal through the USB port (however my iPhone would still charge, so power is sending but not data) I tried my case ports as well as directly through the MoBo and neither work. I powered down the PC and disconnected the power supply from the wall to discharge the capacitors JIC. No go even after that. It is my assumption that the MoBo has failed. Before going through all of the RMA troubles, I thought I would ask for a second opinion through the community. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Straight to RMA? Thanks everyone

if the hard drive has failed it can hard lock a montherboard to where it wont work. unplug the hard drive data and power from the system board if you can get into the bios then your drive may have had a controller failure. power down and plug the power cable only back into the drive. at power up do you feel it spining up to speed and staying running. if it not spinning then the drive has died. if it spins up. power down and plug the data cable back in see if your rig posts back into windows. if it does run hdtune and check your drive.

My boot drive is a SSD so no spin check for me unfortunately. I will still try to remove power from the drive and see if I can enter BIOS. Stand by for update.

I unplugged the SSD, powered up, keyboard received signal and I was able to enter BIOS. I powered down and plugged SSD back in and booted up and windows launched. Thanks for the easy TIP. I was worried it was a MoBo issue. I am still learning all the tricks I guess. Out of curiosity though, what would cause the SSD to freeze up like that? It is a 120 GB Kingston SSDNow 300V. Not the best drive performance wise but I simply use it for a boot drive and main program launcher.
