So now that spring is arriving, i have noticed some changes in temperature in my components. this is my first custom built computer and since i built it in the beginning of winter, it ran cool. what can i do to make it run cooler due to season change? also i feel like i might be the only one to ask this, but if you have had this issue please tell me how you have delt with it

you can do a good spring cleaning and reapplication of thermal paste for your cpu. look to see if you can improve your case airflow by adding a fan or 2 in unused mounts. what case do you have? is it a factory build? do you have an aftermarket heatsink for your cpu?

I know how you feel - I get huge temperature swings, too. Adding in case fans, an extra cpu fan (if there's room/mount for one) for push/pull design, using a can of compressed air to clean out dust, and/or rearranging the wires are all pretty easy/inexpensive ways to modify your set-up. You can also resort to lower your overclock if you have one. Also, you can try to reapply the thermal paste, but its likely that it's still too early to replace it. Most thermal pastes should be good for at least a year.

pc and tv dont have any issues most times with warmer temps till the room hits 40-50c. then tv and pc have hard time dumping there hot air into a room where the air temp is the same as inside the case. with pc make sure the case has airflow around it a lot of the newer desks dont have cut out for air flow. if it sitting on carpet look to pick up one those 20.00 case holders.

if your case has bottom fan grill to let cold air into the bottom of the case. if you have a soil id bottom case you can use one of the other type. blow any dust that in the case and make sure the fans are working. in small cases if you can on the side cut or put a 120mm fan on the side that faces the gpu and have it blow into the case. on standard atx case if your case has bottom and top fan placement. plug two good low noise fans in the bottom one to pull cold air in and the top to blow hot air out. if you do max your case fans out you may want to pick up a fan controller to keep the fan speed down so the noise dont drive you up a wall. if your game room is in an attic that not insulated real well and gets real hot. try putting portable ac to get the hot air out and or use a large fan to keep cooler air moving over the pc.
also in some states your local power and or gas will have free enery audits and grant money to put in newer windows and inulation on older homes.
