How can I recover files after refreshing my computer?

After the upgrade I was unable to use my computer first a conduit error message showed then a SkyDrive error showed. I was recommended to refresh my computer and then try again. I have just refreshed it but a new problem came, I do not have any of my files, pictures, music and man other things. I had many important docs and pictures. HOW CAN I RECOVER AL THOSE?!?!? PLASE HELP ME I'M DESPERATE!!

there is both free and paid data recovery tools but i have yet to see one that delivers.to my mind the only out is to have a data recovery service try to recover your data.this can be really expensive.not meaning to add insult to injury but when a warning comes up that all data will be lost if you continue.think twice.
