hi guys,

I have a L755 laptop that wont start, I have tried the basic things like taking the battery and power cable out. When I start the laptop I get 3 leds and some fan noise but no picture. I have also tried an external screen but nothing. any advice?

what do I think? no idea that's why I am on here. I know my battery is just about dead but the last thing I did was start my laptop with power from a inverter in my car. I have done this heaps of time and not usually a problem. Now back home I have got rid of the static, clean the unit and made it dust free. I pulled the HD and ram out and put it back and always the same problem. fan, lights on no picture like it is just not booting but again I am far from a computer wiz

"Hold a bright flashlight up to the monitor and check if you can see any slightest information displayed on the screen. If you can see any faint/light information it is probably just the back light or inverter"

Reset CMOS, not sure if this works on all laptop, but can give it a shot.

Update: Have you tried an external HDMI display, such as TV?
