Hello, I was using this website when i was troubleshooting problems for my desktop. Winded up sending it back to GIGABYTE to fix but they said they didn't have the parts to fix my motherboard. It had bent CPU pins...fishy. I think they could've...
Basically i'm here asking for help on what parts can i buy with about a 800-1000$ budget which can replicate my old setup and compatibility work with my old parts.( please just don't show me the best parts that are really pricey.
I'm a student currently working on a electrical engineering degree and i use my computer for AutoAcad, Games such League Of Legends, FIFA, Guild Wars 2, and FPS games. (I'm also looking to playing Watchdogs and later in the future SWBF3)
My old set up was:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: GIGABYTE X58A-UD5 rev 2.0
http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3450#ov (LINK TO OLD MB)
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
http://ark.intel.com/products/37150/Intel-Core-i7-950-Processor-8M-Cache-3_06-GHz-4_80-GTs-Intel-QPI (LINK TO CURRENT CPU)
Memory: DDR3 6144MB RAM Memory Types DDR3-800/1066 # of Memory Channels 3
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Power Supply: 1000W Coolmaster Silent Pro
Case: Coolmaster haf 922 (without side fan)
Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

I'm looking to boost my RAM to 8gb (i'll buy a 4gb ram card if the motherboard only has 3 slots)
Also would it be wise to buy a new CPU? my CPU was laying on bent pins...and i feel as if it isn't running well(might be due to heat), i definitely need a new heat sink fan for it though. The standard intel fan doesn't cut. Also would my CPU work with new motherboards if i wanted to buy one in the later future? I want to buy a motherboard that can handle future expansions. That was why i bought GIGABYTE X58A-UD5 rev 2.0. I'm looking to something similar to it. Made by a trustworthy company like GIGABYTE. I was going to put 2 graphics cards on. (Even though i don't have too much knowledge on SLI and all that.)
***BY THE WAY NO AMD ITEMS ONLY INTEL AND NVIDIA.***
I feel as if my GTX 470 can still do the job, i think it has a year or two left in holding standards.
I know if i get another CPU it might not support my current RAM cards.
All help is appreciated! If you have any questions i will reply daily!
Thank you!

Solution
TigerDirect is OK, have ordered through them before, of the two, I'd go the Hero (I did, my rig is in my sig) ;) and that's a great cooler, ran one of them while waiting for the release of my GTS V8

Thanks, so i will need new RAM cards with this motherboard. My old ones i'll store away. Those are some expensive RAM cards, i was always unfamiliar with RAM pricing n why. The CPU looks excellent, I was looking at the list and i didnt understand why certain cpu with fhz lower speeds were more expensive.

Will this motherboard and this new cpu be able to handle new GPUs and is there room to hold 2 GPU. i also have a sound card, will i have room to input it? I have a sound blaster audigy. Would you also advise to get the armor kit for this motherboard? And if yes, would you say not to get a fan and heatsink for the CPU? Will the armor kit take replacement

Also, the back of my case template looks different to this motherboard. The 4 USB at the top is different to mine.Does that matter? Will the new Motherboard come with a template? This motherboard looks very solid for sure...military grade haha.
Like i said im willing to hit that 800 mark. If there's one that's better and will solidly do the job, but if u believe this is the best for the job and handle my future wants/needs in the future i will take you word. I have my computer in my basement and its a cool, to cold atmosphere. Really appreciate all the help.

Replacement template to fit mobo? This regards the back i assume. Which of the three would you recommend? If u do recommend the Gryphon, should i buy the armor kit and a heatsink? If u choose one of the others Motherboards should i get a heatsink and fan for my cpu then because once again i only have a standard intel fan.? Thank you again.

Sorry for double post, I narrowed it between the Hero and Gryphon(With armor kit). All i really need to know is if i should buy a new fan for my cpu. depending on board?

Also should i get warranty's? Or will the manufacturers cover it?

Forgot to add i have two optical drives

Besides for the standard fans on my case, i only have the INTEL SOCKET LGA1155. I don't know how to overclock, and im worried if i find someone to do it they might mess up. Is it worth it? Does it void warranty?

The gryphon went out of stock on newegg today(Hero still available), so i went to tigerdirect.com and they have the gryphon. Just was wondering if the sight is good. I know its certified, but is it reliable.
Also should i get the warranty for the CPU?

I assume if i want to overclock get the Hero
If i dont get the gryphon?
Both are the same price.(with armor)
Which do u believe i should get? Thanks, that was the exact cpu fan heatsink i was looking at.

Thanks A lot Tradesman1! I just got my motherboard back from gigabyte today, It looks brand new but probably isn't fixed like they said. I'm going to try it this weekend and see how it goes.It most likely isn't fixed, so i will go with the build u told me. Thanks , a lot, and thanks for the replies. I'm going to private message u in the future about OCing if you don't mind.

BTW all his answers were solutions.
