Can I Hook my PS3/PS4 to my monitor

Hi,
I want to hook up my PS3/PS4 to my monitor, an Acer S202HL. The problem is it doesn't have an HDMI port. If I use this adapter

and plug it into my monitor will this work?

it should work fine dvi and hdmi are both digital signals but i dont think it will transfer sound

You would then also need a DVI cable, but yes, it will work.

You won't get sound, though. You'd need speakers connected to the PS4 itself.

I have a hdmi port on my laptop. I connected the ps4. But how do I get the screen of ps4 on my laptop it still shows the windows 8 screen ?

It... no. It doesn't work that way. The HDMI port on your laptop is only for showing the laptop's display on an external monitor. Not for using the laptop as a monitor for something else... it's like plugging your xbox into your desktop and wondering why your screen is still showing the desktop.
