I was just wondering if there were and monitors that have no black frame around it. I know there are some that have almost no physical frame around it but have a black border when the display is lit up. I want the display to go from edge to edge. I want to setup some monitors in nvidia surround with almost seam in between the screens if possible. Thanks. :) Also I want them to 27 inch monitors if possible.

Solution
Well, I couldn't find a single one that goes up to the edge, but I'll share with you my list of ones that I found that came the closest.

I don't know of any monitors with no physical border.
IPS monitors might be your best bet, a lot of them have very thin physical borders, I use two 24" IPS monitors for my setup and the small break never bothers me.

I was going for and IPS monitor but as I mentioned, the ones that have a very thin border have black bars when the display is lit.

Well I want something like this: http://

It has a very thin metal frame and looks great when it's off. But as soon as you turn it on the black borders show up because the display doesn't go all the way to the edge.

So maybe a real 1-3mm edge would be ok (instead of that misleading model monitor)? Maybe there's one out there.... I'd have to look... if that's kind of bezel is what you want?

Is that display hooked up with an HDMI cable?
Try a DVI, I had the same issue with my monitors.

Heres the fix-
Go into your Catalyst Control Center
>Resize HDTV Desktop
>Click Do Not Resize

And to adjust scaling-
In catalyst control center, right click your display
>Configure
>Under Scaling Options, make sure Full Screen is selected.

Well first it's personal opinion, I think it would be nice. Second, I didn't say price mattered

Yeah, that's basically what I want. Just a very thin bezel with the actual display going as far to the edge as possible. A lot of the ones I've looked at say they have an edge to edge display but all the reviews I look up say there is still that thin black border. Thanks for your help!

I don't actually have the monitors yet. I'm looking for the right one to buy. But I'll keep that in mind, thanks a bunch! :)

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion. I've been looking for a while and I was trying to get some other opinions. That's Kind of the point of a forum.

Wow, thanks so much. There's a few in there that I like and I might end up going with some ultra wide monitors. But that definitely helped a lot. I'm not sure if they even make ones that go all the way to the edge but some of those get pretty close.

Yeah that's pretty much what I'm looking for. Not sure if it exists though.

Heh, that's a pretty good find too. :) I thought about checking all the BenQ ones on their website, but ended up not.

Here's a real world pictures of it:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/linsinchen/11148008416/

Also note: Almost all the monitors I listed are IPS or PLS panels (I focused specifically on IPS or PLS). One is an MVA; also, this BenQ model tcb1005 mentioned is also MVA.

IPS or PLS have better viewing angles vs TN panels (TN is the most common type). IPS and PLS also do not have the problem where colors shift from one side of the screen to the other. On a TN panel, because of the limited viewing angle, one side of the screen may have a slightly different color hue (like the middle may be blue and the side a little bit purple). The down side to IPS and PLS is sometimes their black levels are not as good.

I really like MVA panels for the very, very deep black levels. Black looks very black, much better than an IPS or PLS panel. Also, their viewing angles are better than TN, but they still have the same problem as TN panels, where the color hue will shift a little bit from one side of the screen to the other (because the center of the screen is at a different angle than the edges): which is important for image editing or anything where colors matter. Despite this flaw, I must say that I really love the color/black levels that MVA panels have vs some IPS/PLS models.

If you're that concerned about it, you could simply remove the frames. You'd probably need to build a replacement frame yourself, however, as VESA mounts are usually part of the same assembly that contains the bezel. It would be a lot of work, but it could be done.

It's awfully difficult to know exactly how wide the LCD panel below the bezel is before buying one, though.

TVs
Quite a few Samsung TVs have a pretty thin bezel:
http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs
... and this OLED TV:
http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-55EA9800-oled-tv

But, TVs are not quite ideal for computer use. They can get pretty close, but always seem to be slightly short of perfect. (If you do end up with a TV, they require changing a LOT of settings to look right on a computer; I can tell you what settings you probably need to change if you need that kind of info).
Side note: Technically TVs use the same technology as a computer monitor, yet for some unknown reason they make it almost impossible to set them up so they work like a computer monitor. Most of the problem is entirely software related and not core to the design of a TV. Maybe only a few minor things *might* be hardware related. Of course maybe I should be glad about this, because then it allows good computer monitors to be cheap enough in price for many people to afford them ... instead of most buying the super lower resolution TVs ... thus making good, higher resolution computer monitors a rarity.

I was looking for something else, unrelated to this thread, and came across this you might be interested in:
http://www.benq.us/product/DigitalSignage/PH460
http://www.lgecommercial.com/digital-signage/products/monitor-signage

These digital signs are specifically designed with a thinner bezel. In fact, you might try looking for some more digital signs instead of monitors to see what else you can find if you want to look some more.

What I can't tell you is how the quality compares to a normal monitor, but some of them are called "monitors" and not TVs so may be of equal or better quality.
