New build but I have a black screen....

I have a ASUS Z87-Pro and a ASUS GTX 770 but when I hook everything up to my HD monitor it is a black screen.... This monitor works with my other computer. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

On your first boot up, plug the monitor into the motherboard output, Not the graphics card.

Get all the drivers installed, then you can plug into the graphics card.

See if that works.

Didn't work so I assumed we messed something else up, Lights are on fans are working,..

We have tried that also we tried this:

Sorry didnt mean to pick as solution Im not very awake I now believe is a different problem because we tried removing the gpu and using the port on the motherboard and it still doesnt work
