My new HDD

My 2 months old hdd dont stop working for the last 3 days i can hear disk starting to spin every 30 sec this is my secondary drive i have only movies on it and i am not watching any movies

if it going up and down the controller or a part in the drive has failed.

sorry i dont know what you mean my hdd sound like optical drive you know when you put cd or dvd inside it start spinning its same with my hdd but every 30 sec

can you open the drive in windows control panel and see your data?? hard drive should stay running unless the system goes to sleep. is there any error showing up in windows disk management???
