Hi there, so basically what has happened is I went out to buy a more efficient cooling system for my computer, I picked up the h100i from Corsair. Previously I had the h70 on it, and I've done multiple cpu installs, recently installed an i7 3770k without any issues. I've built many computers for myself over the years and this is the first time I've had any issues.
Specs:
MSI Z77a-G45 motherboard
i7 3770k
16gb of Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz
MSI Twin Frozr 7970 3gb OC

So basically, here's the problem:
I can only use 2 ram slots, it doesn't matter which 2, but it can only be 2. Doesn't matter if it's the first 2, last 2, 1 in each black, 1 in each blue. It works, but only if there is 2.

I have checked the bios for the timings / voltages, everything is set right.

Any clue? Could I have messed up the motherboard? Too much pressure from the new cooler? I did everything right when it came to the install, the mount had a little bit of slack etc.

Is the motherboard screwed? Or is it the CPU?

Wanted to try voltage first, but it's possible there's somethin with the MC (memory controller) it normally affacts one channel or the other, and can often happen with the heatsink being too tight on 1 side or in 1 corner, the tight side or corner keeps the CPU from being completely level in the socket and having full/proper contact, can often take care of that by loosening up the heatsink and then snugging back down but not real tight, can also be from bent broken pins, again though that tends to effactr one channel or the other

Tried upping the voltage a bit, no difference. I reset the heatsync, no difference. It doesn't matter what channel it's in, they both work fine, just cannot use more than 2 ram sticks.

Does it sound maybe more like something got damaged with the board if this is happening?

I will also mention that I had to remove my H70 back plate from the motherboard, and it was on there because of the adhesive sponge things, and it would not come off without a lot of force. Enough force that it snapped the plastic h70 back plate in half. Could this have damaged the motherboard?
