MBR issue in windows 7

I installed windows 7 on my hitachi sata hdd(500gb) but at the same time my samsung ide hdd(40gb) was connected to the pc . Now i cant remove the samsung one due to MBR being in that one i guess. I tried to repair windows with ony the hitachi connected but my installation doesnt show up in the repair options and i really need the data in my 500gb one. Please help me .

Thank you so much for answering:) . But the problem is i dont have a spare hdd nor a portable one to backup that much data. Isnt there any other solution:(
 
Depending on how much data you must keep, there are free cloud storage option out there. however, it won't be sufficient if you got too much data. If anything you can grab an 64GB USB for like $30 on newegg.com or cheaper in other places.
