Are you also looking for bragging rights (overkill)? Or also trying to just get the best value components (same performance but cheaper)?

No I don't care about showing off it's for tax purposes as I don't really need anything else to be honest. Honestly there is no need for a smart ass comment I'm just asking for some advice. I want the best value components I can afford with this budget so if you don't like it please don't reply.

Anyway I was thinking something like this:

CPU - Intel i7-4960X Core i7 Extreme CPU

CPU Cooler - Custom CPU Watercooling Loop - UV Blue

Motherboard - RAMPAGEI-V-BLACK EDITION

Corsair 64GB (8x8GB) DDR3 2133MHz DOMINATOR PLATINUM

Um.....that was a simple straight up serious question? I did not intend to offend anyone.
The build looks great to me, not much to add onto that build.

Ok thank you, well does anyone else recommend a build? Also how long will this build last?

If you switch the GPU to 3 x GTX 780 Ti then you can be looking at gaming for 7+ years without changing anything.

Ok. I was on the impression that the Titan GTX was the best?

Titan is better for developers as it's not optimized for gaming in drivers' prospective and such.

Oh ok, so basically the 780 would be a better option?

Make sure it says GTX 780 Ti, with Ti at the end. GTX 780 is a little bit downgrade compare to GTX 780 Ti.

I have a car mate and I'm happy with it, I need a computer so might as well spend 15k on one to last many years to come, also I am thinking of going with 4 titan gtx black, with all water cooled, is this a better option or still the 780ti, also I am a developer, I will be developing programs, so basically it's a good card for that. What would you recommend?

It depends on what you develop and program, but I guess go with Titan Black since you don't care about the pricing at this point.

i think if there is a 10 slot pci 3.0 x16 i would get 10 crossfire r7 240 gpus.

Well yes the pricing is no issue, roughly with 4 titans and the rest of the specs, how long can it last?

Of course I know that just a rough estimate, would be nice.

I'd wait until end of this month as the gtx 790 duel gpu is set to release and it's going to be better then the Titan black. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they released info on it THIS week or mid week next week absolute latest.

Ok great then I will wait for them, do you know the price range? also can you get 4x the 790?

March 12, 2014 5:05:25 AM

Also I have just been told that with 4x titan black it reduces the card speeds to 16-8-8-4? is this correct?

A 15k computer might last you 6 years of useable gaming experience. Three 3k computer will in total last you probably 9-12. Years. So if your concerned about making your money go far but three smaller computers over the years, and go on a vacation with the extra 6k.

A 15k computer will work just as well in games as a 5k computer, because both of them are so far beyond the optimal price to preformance area, that they will both get about the same performance.

3 still incredible but less expensive computers over the years will last longer than 1 mega computer

Yes it is true what you are saying, but why not give it a go? also can you clarify my question about adding 4 gpus?
m
0
l
March 12, 2014 7:13:18 AM

Because you won't see any more preformance out of the last 10k, you won't notice any difference on a 15k computer or a 5k computer, so why waste your money?
Wouldn't you rather have several more current computers over the years than one computer that is awesome for a few, and then looses it's edge in gaming

March 12, 2014 7:14:44 AM

Ok well what will you recommend for 5k? with water cooling?

March 12, 2014 7:14:54 AM

The quad gpu speeds are dependent on the motherboard you will use. X79 can go up to 40 lanes, which in theory means 16x8x8x8, but not all motherboards will do this
m

l
March 12, 2014 7:23:42 AM

I would not go with water cooling, it is a money suck that will not give back much performance.

For the build
4960x. 1000
Gigabyte uhd4.(X79) 300
Tri sli 780ti. 2100
16 gb ram. 200
Nh-D14. 85
Xfx. 1200w. ~150
500gb SSD. 400
2tb HD. 100
Any case of your choice
Total ~4350
Sorry I wasn't able to pick exact parts, I need to get to work soon, I went with general ideas of what prices might run you
Let me know what you think
