how can I cool down my external GPU?

Hi and thanks to all in advance for any help given

I've got a Sony VAIO z laptop that's about 2 years old with an external GPU (AMD Radeon HD 6650m) and recently I've been running into some heating issues. When I'm just browsing or idling it stays around 56 C. If I'm playing league of legends it'll be around 70 C. If I run diablo 3, the temperature sky rockets and usually the GPU will shut itself off after about 20 minutes of gameplay (happens at about 85 C) and when this happens, my CPU crashes and blue screens.

I'm looking for ways I can keep the external gpu's temperature down if anyone may have suggestions. I have no idea how to open the GPU myself to dust it and I don't know if any aftermarket cooling fans will be effective.

Thanks

Use compressed air and spray air in short bursts into the GPU cooler, when it's turned off. It will remove the dust effienctly. Hold the fan while you're spraying, if the fan ramps up on too high RPM it will break.

Other things you can do is to keep it above any surfaces to make sure that it doesn't build up heat on the surface.

I've tried dusting it from the outside by spraying into the vents and such and I got all the visible dust out of the way but I'm sure there's buildup from within. I searched everywhere and I can't find a how to on this specific external GPU and I'm too much of a wuss to attempt it myself especially since there are no visible screws that I can start with.

Also I keep it in an area with good air flow and no ceiling surfaces that could promote heat buildup.
