Micro SD recovery issues

I've recovered video (mp4) files from my micro sd card but cant seem to play them in any media player as they are not recognized . Why is this? Could they be corrupt?

I used ParetoLogic Data Recovery Pro

Corruption is usually the cause if they played okay before on the same media player.

Recovery software can't guarantee to recover files intact, it just recovers whatever it can, corrupt or otherwise.

Don't use that MicroSD card any more, that's probably what corrupted them.
