I have an xbox one and pc that i have moved to my room but the wifi I get in my room is horrendous at best. It is too slow for gaming of any kind and the router isn't that far away from my xbox and pc. I have a belkin n wireless router if that helps any. I have read that powerline adapters use outlets as internet connections are they any good? Running a 50ft ethernet cable to my xbox and pc is out of the question. Are powerline adapters good?

Crossover makes no difference for anything made in the last decade. Also, his PC probably won't have 2x ethernet ports. You'll need a switch, if you go the cabled route.

Can you try to move the router to a less congested wireless channel? In heavily built-up areas, that can help.

Failing that, powerline it is. Not great, but they should be enough.

You can use a long ethernet cable from the router to your computer, and then you could run a crossover cable (special type of ethernet cable) from your PC to your XBOX. That would save you from having 2 ethernet long ethernet cables. You would however have to have a 2nd ethernet port/card on your PC.

The only other option is to put your xbox in the same room with the router for better gaming, or settle for laggy gaming. If you are a competitive gamer, I wouldn't even consider wireless (for gaming), as every advantage makes a difference.
