I have a recently built system with an Asus Gryphon Z87 motherboard and the latest BIOS. I had everything set up and running except for a GPU I was waiting on (Quadro K600). I don't remember seeing the Boot_Device_LED staying on when booting until I after I added the Quadro card. If I let the computer boot right into Windows the LED goes off after post, unless I go into the bios settings and it stays lit. I have checked the cables for the SSD and optical drive; both are detected correctly. Any idea if I should even be concerned about the LED indicator if the system is still booting normally? Will the post show errors associated with the LEDs if fast boot is disabled?

The full specs are listed below:

Intel i5-4670K
Corsair H60 water cooler
Corsair Vengeance (1600 mhz 2 x 4GB)
Asus Gryphon Z87 (1707 Bios)
Quadro K600 GPU
Crucial M500 240GB SSD
Asus CD/DVD-RW
Corsair CX600M PSU
Corsair 350D case
Windows 7 (64-bit) Pro

I had pretty much the same thing happen to me after I added my GTX 760 card with the same CPU and a Sabertooth board. When in BIOS the boot device led is on. When I boot into an OS it turns off. The same thing oddly happens as well when I go into the EZ Flash 2 application, and it stays off when I go back into BIOS from that app. It's been several months now and I havent had any issues so you might be ok. I never really figured out what the issue was but everything works perfectly fine for me

*The mobo speaker I have in there also doesnt show any issues, so it made me think it was just a misbehaving LED

Hi

I have a Z97-A and a I-4690k and have the exactly same issue than you..

So, did you find a solution for that? The BOOT_DEVICE_LED turn off after Windows starts.
