hello , i have a maxtor 320gb external hdd and suddenly when i plug it in my computer or any other computer either pc wont recognize it or pc will recognize it but will explore it extremely slow and get not responding status at last. is there any way to fix this and save my data? thanks in advance

You mean you don't have your data backed up to another drive? Not very wise.

it is supposed that the external hdd was the backup. i formated my pc then forgot to copy my staff and now this happened. i tested with this software driver information test was not avaliable. short generic failed. long generic started, counted like 200 errors then failed. i didnt go for advanced test since it warns that data might be lost. what should i do ?
