Hello.

I've had my 7.1s for the past few months (bought in december), but recently (within the past four days), the headset has completely stopped working apparently.

Whenever I plug it in, the LEDs do not turn on and the headset does not activate.

It has not been significantly dropped or anything, to my knowledge.

On occasion when I plug it in I am able to catch a brief flicker of the LED on the headset earcups but then nothing.

I was able to get it working briefly, but when I put it on my head to use, it suddenly quit again.

Is this a fixable problem or will I have to see about a warranty replacement/purchasing a new one?

ok,the cable has an invisible break somewhere close to where you flex it and sound cuts out. I do not know how to advise you, but unless they say it was your fault they would have to repair or replace under warranty. i don't know how many wires there in a 7.1 cable but i'm picking at least several, so best send it back. At least that's what i would do.

Right, i was actually assuming it was out of warranty, if it's under warranty, send it back to the manufacturer, it's their problem not yours.

After making sure of things, it appears it is a problem with the wire itself, as right now as I type this it is working correctly but if the wire moves a certain way it shuts off until I move it a different way.

Ive just fixed my issue. The problem is that the red wire that supplies the sound/power, and the green wire that supplies the power to the light on the ear piece, are touching each other causing a short in the ear piece. Just take off the ear piece, and use a bit of electrical tape, and tape each wire away from each other (so they can never touch). Presto... all repaired. Its a bit of a pain and takes about 15 min to do, but its not bad. Just slowly remove the cushion, find the 4 screws (you have to punch holes in the paper to get to them). Then just tape, and put back together.

I guess all krakens are defective then its same with mine tip dont buy the 7.1 they need to be recalled I think because the wires are arching! and if you start to feel heat in the left cup with the mic turn it off or it will either fry the headphones or better yet your mobo
