Hi folks,

Okay, so heres what I've decided to go with, for my new gaming PC.

PSU:
Corsair AX760
CPU:
i7 4770K
CPU cooler:
Corsair Hydro Series H100i Extreme Perfomance Liquid CPU Cooler
GPU:
eVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked w/ ACX Cooler (3 GB)
RAM:
Corsair Vengeance 4 x 4 GB

I also have an SSD and another new hard drive ready to go, so thats also sorted out.

I'm just not sure what motherboard I should go with? I've read around the web, that my CPU can be overclocked pretty good, with the right motherboard, but what is the right motherboard for my rig? so fare I've looked at the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO, but would that be a good choice? Any other recommendations to the build is also welcome :)

i know it not what you asked, i believe you have more joy with 2 x 8gbs sticks of ram if your going to oc (given your purchasing an unlocked i7k ). You are more likely to run into stability issues earlier with 4 sticks. This has been my experience and that of many oc'ers.

BTW I'm staying with Hero, although the gigabyte boards are excellent to. I have only ever used Asus or Gigabyte boards in some 50+ builds for colleagues and friends.

My #1 recommendation goes to the ASUS Maximus VI Hero; great quality board, great OCer.

If you don't need all the fancy features, any of these boards will do, and I'm sure more that I havent listed: ASUS Z87-A, PRO, or PLUS, Gigabyte Z87-D3H? (I don't remember Gigabyte board name), MSI Z87-G43, 45, or 65, or ASRock Z87 Extreme4, or 6.

It all depends on your budget, and which motherboard has the features you're looking for.

Hi, there are many Z87 Motherboards to choose between, i hope this two articles will help you decide.
Mid end Z87

High end Z87

EDIT- I also forgot to mention to you that if your system will be primarily used for gaming, there is no need for Intel's i7 and 16BG of RAM
Intel's i5 4670k has better price/performance ratio in gaming and 8GB of RAM is the plenty for modern games.

please stay away from ASUS....quality is not what it used to be....i would look at gigabyte, two of my ASUS boards have failed in about 8 months or so....and they ware not the cheap ones either.
