So. I just built a new PC all new parts (except for harddrive), everything is connected as it should be. Except my Monitor doesn't respond to the video card. The fans on the chassis, the processor and video card all of it is purring like a kitten. When I turn on the PC the monitor gets "No Input" on both HDMI and the DVI/VGA.

*NOTE*
My Motherboard DOES NOT have a built in video chipset. So I wouldn't know how to access the BIOS to see if it is using PCIE but I believe it would by default since there is no other video options besides the graphics card. Also I know the mobo is getting power. I put in my wireless usb card and the light was on.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Here is everything I purchased

Unfortunately with no onboard it makes it difficult to diagnose.

Its 1 of 3 things.

Just plain bad gpu. If you have an older gpu throw it in there and see if you can get video. If you can, update chipset, put new gpu in and see if it works.

If it still doesn't it is a bad gpu or psu. With the fans on gpu spinning it doesn't fully mean that it is getting enough power.

I would replace gpu if updating chipset doesn't work. If same issue occurs it's power supply. It could be either or, gpu's are a lot more complicated. I've seen a higher rare of dpa gpu's out of box then psu's. If this wasn't all brand new parts I would say check psu first... But they are all new, more than likely gpu.

Thx fo the response! They are all new. I tried to throw in my old gpu,(ATI Radeon HD 4350) its really old same issue Fan was spinning but monitor remained unresponsive. I'm using the ATI card now and the monitor picks it up fine. Could It be that something on the mobo isn't connected correctly?

If the 4350 is working it's either power or you need to update chipset. I would update the chipset first. The power draw on the old 4350 vs the 650 is pretty huge.

But if the monitor is working, update chipset first to see if it resolves it, if not, rma the PSU.

Though it could be that 500w is not sufficient. I doubt it with your build, but a little more info would help.

LEDs?

Number of fans with size (with leds?)

Number of hard drives by type and speed

Do you have a dvd, bluray, or any other optical drive?

ssd?

overclocking?

any other pci or pcie cards?

fan controller?

water cooling?

yes my tower did come with a fan Its plugged in to the mobo, it also has led's but I unplugged them(they are optional just for show) and still a no go. Only 1 HD I think its a Hitachi. 1 CD-R/RW drive. No Overclocking that i know of. No other pci/pcie cards, no fan controller and no water cooling. I'm really stumped. This GPU works fine on my old pc ( which i'm currently using) but not on the new builds mobo.

Well if it is the same psu and same gpu worked, it could just be the chipset. try updating the chipset. I don't know if i am reading the post 3 above correctly, you said that the ati card didn't work, then said the monitor was picking it up. Did it work in the new set up? If it did I don't believe it is the mobo, if it were the motherboard the old gpu wouldn't work....

But if didn't work, you could have a bad pci-e slot. It happens unfortunately.

On a psu calculator I am only coming up with 191w. Your psu should be more than sufficient.
