If it were me. I would make sure when connecting to my other pc that I made sure to boot from the main pc HDD and not the laptop HDD. I would copy all the data off the drive I could. The format the laptop drive to NTFS. Then put it back in the laptop and try to reinstall windows. If you set it up as the secondary drive and disk manager can't see it. I would replace the laptop HDD. Acer's are super cheaply built it wouldn't shock me at all the HDD was DOA. You can pick up 2.5 inch drives pretty cheap. In fact it could be a good excuse to get yourself an ssd, but that would be a little like putting rims on a geo metro. I hope you don't lose any good pictures.

I would try it on another PC. If it still crashes a second PC I would say you're likely screwed. Well I know there is disk recovery tools in linux that work really well thats what we use here where I work when windows is being a dick. Disk internals is the program I believe. Though I couldn't tell you how to do it exactly because that goes out to the guy who does disk recoveries.
