Graphics Card: is it working or not idk please Help

I recently built a new computer and set up windows. However when I right click on my desktop and select screen resolution and then on Display it says: Generic Non-pnp Moniter on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. does this mean i'm running on my cpu graphics. Otherwise how do i find out wether my computer is running on my gnu or not

that means you havent installed the vga drivers . if you have installed a pci-e gpu then you are running on it. if you arent then you run the cpu graphics.

if you have nvidia http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
if you have amd http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

what is your setup?

Quickest way to update the drivers is to use SLIM Drivers. It does all drivers with the latest. Also you should run SPECCY then copy / paste the first tab when you make a post so we know what sort of computer we are dealing with

You need to install the drivers for the system, read a bit on how to build a computer and you'll figure things out. Right now you skipped a step or two to get a fully working system.
