Hey guys,

i've just finished my build and when i power it up its run then stop then run then stop then run again and the fans cooled down and it shows 99 on the on the Q-Codes LEDs of the mobo

any idea...... :??:

Solution
Fan speeds will change with temperature. You can run Fan Xpert in AI Suite to calibrate the fan speeds according to system temps as well. You don't need to replace the fans.

Raja,

I’ve checked my UEFI (BIOS) the only thing I found is in the EZ mode is that 2 fans (CHA_FAN1 & CHA_FAN2) shown in red and they are spinning at ~450 RPM, when I’ve checked those 2 fans I found that these are the 2 chassis stock fans (200mm. blue led Thermaltake brand since my chassis is the Thermaltake Overseer RX-I) however theses fans described in the chassis manual as follows: 200 x 200 x 30 mm Blue LED (600~800 RPM, 12~14 dBA)

I’ve done a try by connecting one of the fans to another port but still the same, do you think that this is a fan problem and I should consider changing those fans?

How? What did you do differently?? I have been staring at that stupid 99 for days. I have moved the gpu to different slots and even put a different one in all together. Board was verified to work prior to buying it and I installed with anti static. How did you fix yours??

In my case (Maximus Hero VII), I removed the graphic card, then no video on motherboard's HDMI but connecting the monitor to the VGA output, I could boot the computer. Now I am putting everything together again. Normal code is A0 for Maximus Hero VII

Hope it helps,
José

For me this was not an error at all. 99 did appear on the bios and I did get the beeps and monitor did not display, but it actually did post and everything was fine; all I had to do was unplug the HDMI and connect my monitor through DVI instead (VGA should work too).
