Looking for some one that owns this monitor or has a lot of know how on this model

ok, If i buy this monitor , do i need to get the iR Emitter?

Can i use the black lenses i got from my movie theater?

does this monitor have light boost?
If so , is there a option that you can turn it off and on?

Is light boost only enable when you in 3d mode?

HE doesn't have an inbuilt emitter o yes you will need one. No you can't use the glasses you use at movies because they are passive, all they do is block out different wavelengths of light for each eye. The Nvidia monitors use active glasses, which alternate in blocking out the left and right eye while the monitor is showing the opposite image. Yes the monitor has Lightboost, you can turn it off but there is no reason at all do to so, all you will achieve is making the 3D image darker.

Lightboost is mainly for 3D but some people use it for blur reduction in 2D.

3D you see when you go watch a film is complete crap, largely because of the type used. Films generally use depth buffer, where objects are flat and placed at different depths, the effect looks like a popup book. Games are proper 3D, same as real life. 3D gaming is great but it is not without its issues. Alot of games don't work, and those that do often require a bit of tweaking to get it work right.

If you are just getting in for films then you are pretty much wasting your time in my opinion.

i am getting this monitor for the 144hrz for 2d , just wanted to know more about the 3d side, and when i went to go see "300" movie , i was extremely disappointed with the 3d , the movie was awesome though , it was just me and my girl in the theater , and we were in the back then in the front then in the middle trying to find out why the 3d was so bad ,, i guess this explains it all , thanks again for your time cooky biscuits
