This also depends on what 'old' parts you plan too keep, and what you're going to use this for.

The only thing I'd change would be to get some CAS9 RAM, rather than CAS10. Keep it to 1.5V. If you don't have one, you'll also want a CPU cooler. I use and recommend the Xigmatek Gaia over the more often parroted but slightly inferior Hyper212 EVO:
http://www.techreaction.net/2011/07/07/review-xigmatek-...
http://www.techreaction.net/2011/11/27/review-cooler-ma...

Unlike the Hyper212 EVO (ignore the URL; it IS the EVO they tested), the Gaia never throttled, although it wasn't always the coolest depending on the fan used. Both got awards, but the Gaia is usually cheaper as well, making it the better choice. NZXT and Enermax also have 120mm tower coolers now, which should offer similar performance but may be even cheaper now.

i will only change the parts i posted the rest of the components are listed in my equipments section
click it to read ok? i am limited to the pc shop down the street in cairo i dont shop from the net
i dunno what cooler they have and that is the only ram they have .

i have been hearing a lot about instability with the 1150 socket how about if i get those instead
Asus P8Z77V-LK motherboard
Intel i5-3570K CPU
Kingston HyperX Blu Red Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit

and about the gtx770 i do things different . i get strong cpu mb ram and a good mid high range gpu
then after 2 years i replace the gpu on the stronger infra structure .

I would look at something like this,

PCPartPicker part list

Price breakdown by merchant (look at this one for all the prices on newegg)

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($312.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master RR-T612-20PK-R1 82.9 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A (NFC EXPRESS EDITION) ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper Gaming Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($142.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($335.91 @ Newegg)
Total: $951.87
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-03-15 19:58 EDT-0400)

I also put in a good cooler for the price.
You could save money by going for the 4670K.

Anyway, from the following three would i pick the asrock,i think that with the others you're just overspending for nothing more, but that's my opinion.

i like you first choice orc Asus Z87-A i think i want to go on with asus i had a good p5q pro since 2009

MAXIMUS VI HERO
Z87-PRO
Z87-A

only 50 bucks diffrense its not really over spending that maximus looks great. what do u say ?

If you want to spend a little bit more i would say go for the Z87 pro,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
A 12phase power design for stable overclocking and a lot of other features too.Even the wifi module is a nice addition.
After rebates (if you use that) it will save you $30 compared to the "hero".

If you really like the looks of the "hero" just go for it.It's a good motherboard so that's not a problem, but i looked at this;"925 $ " and figured that it was your budget,my partslist is already over that, but it includes a nice cooler and a gtx 770,with the "hero" you either have to spend more or loose the cooler and maybe go back to the gtx 760 you chose in the first place.

Did look at the "$925" again and with rebates your at $875 if i'm not mistaken and you're overspending on the original ram that you chose. The ram i chose is way cheaper,is good ram and will look good on the "hero" too.

In the end, take something you like. You might in the end feel dissapointed if you didn't.

i see what you mean vic , lets go to 1100$ without the cooling ok ? just for the mb/cpu/ram/vga
the look of the mb is silly hehe why did you ever mention that ? am not gonna marry the mb or even see it as its in the case ,
i mean it looks like a good mother board
but hero looks on top of the list atm but then again its only new egg not a tech web so its either the hero or the pro
i see those games going for i7/16gb ram/and 3 gb vga ram

http://gamesystemrequirements.com/games.php?id=906
http://gamesystemrequirements.com/games.php?id=1694

i guess gtx 770 2 gb is silly . the 770 4 gb or r9 280x 3 right ?

lets try

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

plus 400 $ for a vga thats 1100$ without the cooler you can take over from here vic

Don't know why, with a 1080p screen should it be enough, but you've got yor own thoughts about that and that's fine with me.

A build under $1000,
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3bkbe (with cooler/would be my choice)
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3bkbe/by_merchant/ (for newegg prices)

or with the components you want,
PCPartPicker part list (without cooler)
Price breakdown by merchant (for newegg prices)

The r9 280x might be out of stock for a while (you could look at others) because of the "mining" hype so a gtx 770 could be the better option or you would have to monitor the prices of the amd on a daily base. For which gtx 770 two options form me if you want a 4gb version,

i didnt say 2 gb is not enough but as you see those games already recommended 3gb vga ram its not logical
to buy a high end card that should last 2 years , below today games recommended specs .

anyway thanks for the 2 lists , but unfortunately i dont shop from there , here in cairo i buy what i find at the local shop
ill update you after i check with them

Motherboard and cpu look good,if you want to save money is the 4670K also a good choice. If you don't want to overclock are a B85/H87 and a 4570/4670 dpending on price also good choices.

Of those three gpu's will any do,just pick the cheapest one, they are all three good choices.

About the ram, with an air cooler get low profile ram or at least nothing higher than gskill ripjaws. The last looks like this, just as an example,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

About that air cooler, get the next for performance,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
it's just over 160mm tall which most cases will handle, the V6 is already 165mm tall which might be to tall.
for a good cooler ,not to expensive are either of the other two good choices, get the one that is the cheapest.
The xigmatek has i think an easier mounting system so that's a plus. The 212 evo, from what i gather, does outperform it.

Which case do you have?
Look for the specs and see if it can handle tall coolers=160mm at least->gaia/212evo and the TPC 612 is 162mm.

i picked those

http://ark.intel.com/products/75123/intel-core-i7-4770k... 370$
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87PRO/ 271$
http://www.asus.com/us/Graphics_Cards/GTX770DC2OC2GD5/ 430$
http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/?partid=khx21c... 180$

that is 1250$ i dont want to save money below 1300$ i still have money for a good cooler

that msi 280x is busted

https://www.google.com.eg/#q=msi+280x++fan+lickage
i bought an msi 460 hawk 2 years ago and the heat sink wasnt even installed correctly a direct RMA

funny i still have that hawk screen

I can't see why you don't just take the r9 280X from msi (or another brand, they tend to be less expensive),there's nothing in that link that you gave that points to problems with it.

Maybe the next,
http://www.google.com.eg/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&sourc...
but there's a plausible explanation given.

am not a forum spammer but buying pc hardware is part of game for me and i like tech boards

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/in-great-conf...

Those MSI R9 280X do have a reputation of having the fans leak oil though so I'd go with a different brand R9 280X if you do go with that over the GTX 770, maybe Asus or Sapphire.

http://forum.pcmech.com/showpost.php?p=1600292&postcoun...

FYI, that MSI R9-280X is known for the fans failing in a couple months or less.

as i posted i bought the 460 famous hawk 460 i was so happy with it and kaboom nearly fried my mb
the heat sink wasnt applied as in the above screen shot .
now with the splash oil story you may understand i dont want that fan sinking my 1300$ high end hardware
in oil . i will go like nuts , and they dont have other brands than msi

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/inno3d_geforce_gtx...

i dunno about the 2 gb ram i mean the card is new and that article is describing the 2 gb edition as the beast .
so probably the card will get old before the ram issue become important ,

my worries now is about the coolers . i am getting the high profile ram and the heat sinks will hit the ram.
how do it get out of this ? how come they dont engineer those fans correctly with asus
circuit printed board ?
u have an asus board its the same platform as the others how is the cooler sitting ?
i have an old summo 5115 case its big but will those coolers start to contact the vga / case
m
0
l
March 31, 2014 5:22:17 PM

so the AIO water coolers dose not need external water cooling kits?
i thought it must be connected to a main cooling sys of the pc .
well i saw it at u tube its looks good . tell me 2 things the fan on the plastic board
should be in one of the rare case fans ? will it sit on the summo 5115 ?
and are those heat sink durable as the air heat sinks , i will go for it i guess ,.
what kind is the best ? thanks

Yes.Probably to expensive compared to the other coolers in the following post.Don't know how much the difference in price is where you live.

Not the cooler master,it has got a 140mm rad and that will not fitt all cases.Read reviews for the other ones. There is one at OC3D about the H75 which includes most of these if i remeber correctly.

I still think that 2gb's of Vram will do,i think that with those optimal specs they probably account for larger resolutions than 1080p.

forget about the toxic , i replace the gpu every 2 years anyway .

It's hard to say how long, corsair says a 1000.000 mtbf which means that it should last about ~100.000 hours before failing. It also depends on how you take care of it and how much strain you put on it.High temps take their toll too.
For strain, putting a second gpu in for instance would add strain to the psu.

Normally will one of the security measures kick in before taking parts with it,but if it really "goes up in flames" it could always happen, since your psu has a warranty of 5 years do i assume that it,with a little care, will go on for a few years more.Just blow the dust out of it once in a while and make sure it gets enough fresh air. With the case you chose should that not be a problem.
m

yes 5 years warranty , i always clean it from dust . i dunno about the new case putting the unit at the bottom , that will drive the fan to hover
the dust off the ground . and make it harder to blow the dust off it as the fan is facing down side .
